Fintech with Impact

Making money and making a positive difference in the world don’t have to be at odds with one another — which fintech leaders Erin Angerer and Claire Veuthey demonstrate well in their professional careers. Erin is an entrepreneur building Floodlight, a SaaS platform that provides investors with specialized insights into a company's full behavior and prospects (Techstars W’21). Claire is a principal at Rizoma Ventures and is a Republic Venture Partner with over a decade's worth of experience in impact investing; she also is an advisor to Floodlight.

Join us for a conversation with Erin and Claire about the world of fintech, what it takes to succeed, and how to bring moral values into for-profit work.

About the Speakers

Claire Veuthey has worked in impact investing in product management, research, investment, and sales roles, at ESG (environmental, social, and governance) data providers and on investment teams on 3 continents. As Principal/Founder at Rizoma Ventures, Claire works with LPs, VC and PE asset managers, and early-stage companies. She has built ESG and impact data collection processes, reporting frameworks, and educational material. Claire is also a Founding Contributor at the Startups and Society Initiative, and the co-author of The Grassroots DEI Organizer Playbook, a tactical guide for early-stage, venture-backed companies. Erin Angerer is the co-founder and COO of Floodlight Invest, a data and information platform developed to help investors evaluate the non-financial performance of corporations and align wealth with values. Erin spent the first 10 years of her career in banking, with the Wells Fargo Wealth Management Group, and later the technology banking group before joining Silicon Valley Bank where she covered the enterprise software and fintech verticals. Erin's passion to use investment dollars to shape corporate behavior started at a young age, and in college she started her first business, an environmental consulting firm.

Shrina Kurani is the Vice President at Republic. She’s a mechanical engineer by training, and loves building the entrepreneurial tech community the same way she builds machines: with a robust foundation and strong purpose. Shrina started her engineering career at NASA and the Southern California Gas Company, and has four years of international experience supporting government projects and startups, from London to the Himalayas. She earned her M.S. from Sweden’s top university for sustainability, and her B.S. from her hometown’s UC Riverside. Shrina is a fierce believer in the power of innovation to solve the world’s most pressing problems, and enthusiastic about seeking out and supporting ideas to make them successful.
