SheWorx AAA Spotlight: Ashley Wellington-Fahey, Founder & CEO, The Relish

Founders in SheWorx are women who embody three core values. We call these the AAA Values: Ambition — We set big goals and push ourselves outside of our comfort zone. Action — We work around constraints and always find a way to get things done. Altruism — We give back to our communities and encourage the success of other women.

Meet Ashley, one of the many incredible founders attending the upcoming SheWorx100 Summit.

1. What does your company do?

The Relish is a sports media brand for female fans. We create original, made-for-social content and video that spans sports, pop culture and lifestyle, plus a newsletter that gives you the rundown on everything you need to know trending in the sports world.

2. What impact are you making? What does this impact look like in 10 years?

For far too long, female fans have been misrepresented and mis-marketed to. Whether it's being mansplained to by male fans, overtly gender stereotyped by the industry or ignored entirely, there's an overwhelming need for a brand that finally takes female fans seriously while embracing the layers upon layers of what it means to be a woman and a fan. The goal of The Relish is to change the conversation and give women a stronger voice in the sports market and within the industry itself. 10 years from now, we should have a level playing field for both female fans and women in the sports industry.

3. Why are you excited about the Summit? What is the best part about being in the SheWorx community?

Since I started The Relish, I found myself feeling overwhelmingly lonely in my experience of launching a company. I know a number of men who have started their own companies, but I was longing to find other like-minded women who were having their own personal experiences and feelings. Sometimes I would share my feelings with male friends and I could tell they weren't experiencing the same things as me- whether it was in fundraising or their own emotional intellect from the experience. Being a part of SheWorx makes me feel less alone in my experience as a female entrepreneur. I'm excited to meet and connect with other like-minded women at the event.

Are you building an incredible company? Join us at the upcoming SheWorx100 Summit in SF and London.
